Rock Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center Reveals Winner of 12-Volt Ford Bronco Raffle

Skilled Nursing Facility Staff Engaging in Multiple Community Events

Tiffany Ward, M.D., a family medicine physician at Rio Grande Hospital, was the winner of a Ford Bronco electric ride-on car for kids in a raffle held at Rock Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.   Dr. Ward, who lives in Monte Vista with her two young children, received the prize as part of a free raffle held during one of Rock Creek’s recent community engagement events. Rock Creek holds or participates in multiple events throughout the year to engage and give back to the community.  “We’re always looking for fun and meaningful ways to show our appreciation and support for the community,” said Administrator Alicia Deacon. “Dr. Ward is regularly visited by Rock Creek’s residents, and she has always demonstrated care, kindness, and dedication. We hope her kids will enjoy this fun prize.”

Rock Creek Supports Local Events
Rock Creek has been active with a range of events for the community over the summer and early fall. In July, Rock Creek staff joined the fun at the Ski-Hi Stampede Parade in Monte Vista with their colorful “Happiness is Ohana” float, winning second place and a $1,000 prize. This prize money was placed into an account to continue to provide fun and meaningful activities for those that reside in Rock Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare. The parade invited participants to showcase what brings joy to their lives, and Rock Creek’s entry did just that – featuring the exact 12-volt Ford Bronco that later became the centerpiece of the community giveaway.    In another community event, Rock Creek staff participated in the 22nd Annual Stephanie L. Miner 5K walk and run on Sept. 20. The fundraiser benefited the expansion of Imaging Services at San Luis Valley Health in Alamosa, Colo.

Upcoming Free Community Events Planned
Rock Creek plans to host a variety of family friendly community events throughout the year, including an upcoming Halloween trunk-or-treat, and holiday light show, and Easter Bunny visit. Beyond seasonal activities, the team is committed to serving as a resource for the Monte Vista community by visiting senior groups, healthcare facilities, and local service organizations to provide clinics, information sessions, and support.
If a local organization would like to have an expert speaker on senior healthcare, clinics, or related issues, please contact Rock Creek at 719-852-5138.

We look forward to welcoming you home to Rock Creek.
